Root Neko Neko

The stage of the work is modern Japan , where the once prosperous magical civilization has become obsolete due to the decrease in magical elements and has been replaced by science . In this world, cats understand human language, and youkai and phantom beasts exist, even though their numbers are decreasing. Two episodes depict events involving magic and youkai that a traveling cat, Sadanobu , encounters in various parts of Japan.
